YouTube is testing multiplayer mini-games under a collection of lightweight, free games called Playables. Currently, Ludo Club and Magic Tiles support 3 multiplayer modes.
“We’re starting to test a new multiplayer feature for a few select games on YouTube Playables. Multiplayer in Playables allows you to play games with other users in real time,” the company said he said.
It was YouTube testing mini games he called “Playable” It’s been about a year on his app and website and he opened a directory of free games for all users this May after restricting access to premium users.
The video streaming service has steadily increased its portfolio for Playables. Currently, you get more than 130 games in categories like Action, Arcade Brain & Puzzle, Trivia & Word, Racing, Simulation and Sports.
YouTube is not alone in using games to attract users – several platforms, including Netflix and LinkedInadded games to get people to use their platform for more than just watching movies or interacting with posts.
