7 Best Bassinets (2024), Tested & Reviewed

Cradlewise’s Convertible Smart Cradle and Cradle (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has all the gadgets: a baby monitor, a bounce function, a sound machine, and artificial intelligence that learns and responds to your baby’s sleep patterns. If your little one starts fussing or moving, Cradlewise responds by bouncing or kicking the buzzer (or both!), meaning less interruption to your baby’s sleep and hopefully more sleep for you. You can adjust the intensity of the bouncing motion and the noise and volume of the sound machine via the Cradlewise app, so even with the AI, I still felt in control of my newborn’s experience. The bounce was the key to calming him down when he freaked out Moro reflex.

Even with all the bells and whistles, Cradlewise manages to be minimalistic in a smart crib. The bounce and sound machine features are designed to be parent-responsive, so they are not static and only kick in when you need to get your baby back to sleep. If your baby is resisting sleep, the crib will respond by bouncing and increasing the volume. When you return to sleep, all functions are turned off.

At the same time, the program acts as a five-year baby monitor. You can minimize it on your phone while scrolling through other apps so that the monitor is always on your screen. The built-in baby monitor camera isn’t the best quality, but I still had enough as a first-time mom to worry about it. You can share and control the app with your partner or loved ones.

Cradlewise feels like the answer the famous Snoobelow was the only smart choice you could go for in the long run. Although the Cradlewise costs more, it retails for $1,999 The Snoo is $1,695although both are often on sale – not only does it come with more built-in gadgets, it can also be used by your baby for longer as it can be converted into a bassinet. It can also handle babies up to 33 kilograms. Like Snoo, there are no subscription fees and it doesn’t require you to put them in a special sleeping bag to use it. Overall, it’s an investment that will last you longer. —Tyler Shane

This bassinet can be converted into a bassinet and can be used up to 24 months or until your baby reaches 33 kilograms.
