Seven tourists in Fiji have been sent to hospital with suspected alcohol poisoning and are reported to be in critical condition.
They are believed to have drank cocktails at a resort bar on Saturday night local time and developed nausea, vomiting and neurological symptoms shortly afterwards.
Four of the seven are Australian, aged between 18 and 56, according to local media reports citing the Ministry of Health.
The incident occurs weeks after Deaths of six tourists in the Southeast Asian nation of Laos. for suspected methanol poisoning.
The tourists in Fiji, who were reportedly staying at a Coral Coast resort, were initially taken to Sigatoka hospital.
They were all later taken to Lautoka Hospital, according to the Fiji Times.
Two Australian families in Fiji are receiving consular assistance, an Australian Foreign Office spokesperson told the BBC.
