Eight years later JoJo Fletcher‘with season Bachelor, Aaron Rodgers finally solves how bro Jordan Rodgers chronicled their breakup on the show — and the NFL quarterback isn’t happy.
“It wasn’t like I was very close with everyone in the family. I was close with my little brother,” Aaron, 41, began of Jordan, 36, in the second episode Aaron Rodgers: The Enigma, which began airing on Tuesday, December 17. “But it really goes back to things from high school that made me feel distant. College stuff, post-college stuff.”
Both Aaron and Jordan played football growing up and in college, with Aaron being drafted in the first round by the Green Bay Packers in 2005. While Jordan had a successful career as a quarterback at Vanderbilt, he was released by three NFL teams before committing to other occasions. .
Aaron told the Netflix cameras that he had been “hush-hush” about their family issues, explaining: “I thought the best way to do it was to just not talk about it publicly.”
His plan worked until 2016, when Jordan signed up to ABC Dating and made it happen to hometowns. Aaron was noticeably absent from the family dinner, which included theirs parents, Ed and Darlaand the oldest sibling Luke Rodgers.
“And what are they doing? They go to the bulls – point and leave two empty chairs,” Aaron continued.

“Everyone agreed it was a good thing to leave two empty chairs on a stupid dating site where my brother had just become famous – his words, not mine.” That he won in the end,” Aaron said with a smirk. “But I was never asked to go to a dinner that was during the season. Not that I’m going.”
On the show, Jordan addressed Aaron’s absence by telling JoJo, “I’ve been a little disappointed every step of the way in my life. No matter what I did, it was never good enough because I was being compared to someone who did it best. Football didn’t define me, and not having a great relationship with my brother Aaron didn’t define me.” At the time, he noted that the siblings hadn’t spoken in two years because of “the way he chose to live.”
Aaron was asked about Jordan’s concert by the media when the series aired. “I haven’t seen the show to be honest, so it didn’t really affect me that much,” he said in the summer of 2016. “When it comes to things like that, I’ve always found it a little inappropriate to talk publicly about some family matters, so I just — I’m not going to these things to speak.’
The four-time NFL MVP ended with a dig that went viral on Bachelor Nation, saying, “But I wish him well in the competition.”
While Aaron and Jordan’s relationship continues to be strained, Jordan married JoJo in 2022.
“People ask me, ‘Is there hope for reconciliation?’ I say, ‘Yes, of course. Of course,” Aaron said on the Netflix show. “I don’t want them to fail, fight, have any arguments or problems. I wish them no ill will at all. It’s more like this – we’re just different steps on the timeline of our own journeys.”
