The video is from a presentation that will take place in November 2024 DevCon1Palantir’s first developer conference. According to Billy Trend, a Cohere engineer and former Palantir employee, this indicates that Cohere is “already deployed to Palantir customers.”
“That’s why I’m so excited to be working with Palantir and we’re going to give you some details on how we can serve their customers,” Trend said during the presentation.
In the videoThe trend was more focused on technical details. While he did not name any specific Palantir client, Trend did mention one application of Cohere’s AI with a Palantir client. This client has “really strict restrictions” on where they can store their data and wants output in Arabic. It’s a great opportunity for Cohere because it’s something we excel at,” he said.
Trend reports that Palantir customers can access Cohere’s latest AI models through “computational modules” within Foundry. Note that Foundry, one of Palantir flagship platformsCompared to Palantir’s other, older core platform, it is aimed more at commercial customers, Gothamdesigned for defense and intelligence agencies, Illustrated by Palantir. So we don’t know which organizations use Cohere through Palantir, which suggests it could be corporations.

Cohere emphasized that he cooperates with large technology companies Like Fujitsu but has remained silent on any deals with Palantir, according to its website and announcements.
TechCrunch asked Cohere if its AI could be used for military or intelligence-related use cases, and if it could clarify what Cohere’s general policy is on such deployments. Cohere declined to comment.
Palantir did not immediately comment. As for OpenAI, it’s also being used by defense tech, with reports earlier this month that it had signed a contract with it On the sensor.
