No good deedthe first season was full of plot twistsbut are there plans for more episodes?
When asked if he plans to expand the universe after the shocking season finale, the creator Liz Feldman he said TVLine on Saturday, December 14: “I have some pretty fun plans for Season 2. However, it is quite early. I still have to get in there and talk everything through with Netflix, but I have a really fun idea for where to take it.”
Feldman would not say whether No good deed would return with the same characters — or if it turned into an anthology show with a new setting every season.
“It will continue to subvert expectations and take you where you least expect to go,” she added.
No good deed debuted on Netflix on Thursday, December 12, and follows three families as they compete to buy the same house that they all think will solve their problems. Ray Romano and Lisa Kudrow lead the cast as a married couple selling the house in question after a family tragedy.
In the series premiere, viewers learn that Paul (Romano) and Lydia’s (Kudrow) son was killed three years earlier, but they waited to put the house on the market until they no longer had to publicize the date of the incident. Details of who shot Jacob were gradually presented (Wyatt Aubrey) — even briefly blaming his sister — until the true circumstances of the murder were revealed in the finale.
“There’s a major twist in the story. I think it works and is a good reward. But I think the whole show doesn’t rely on that one twist,” Romano, 66, said exclusively My Weekly ahead of the show’s premiere with Kudrow, 61, adding, “For me, the goal is always to make it fun and make it something you look forward to and watch.”
The final episode revealed that Paul and Lydia’s neighbor Margo (Linda Cardellini) shot and killed Jacob, with whom she was having an affair. Almost every storyline was packed in a neat way, but it wouldn’t be the first time a show started with a specific premise before branching out into an anthology.
Disney surprised fans when they released Goose bumps in October 2023 as a show about five teenagers forced to work together after accidentally unleashing supernatural powers on their small town. However, when the series was renewed four months later, Disney confirmed that there would be shake-ups in both the cast and the story.
Season 2 will now feature new stars, a new setting, and new mysteries for the characters to solve. The writing team — led by the showrunner Hilary Winston — is expected to return to continue bringing the author RL Stine’with a vision of life.
Meanwhile on Freeform, Cruel summer quickly caught the attention of viewers when it debuted in 2021. Two years later, the show returned with a new focus before eventually cancelled.
