Jane Seymour is thankful for her safety after her home was destroyed by the California wildfires last week.

“I’m very grateful, incredibly relieved,” said Seymour, 73 My Weekly exclusively at the American Ballet Theatre’s annual benefit in Los Angeles on Monday, December 16. “It’s interesting, you have a kind of post-traumatic numbness. It’s like, ‘Did that really happen?’ And it happened.”

The James Bond the star explained that after seeing how the fires affected other members of her community, she realized how lucky she was that her house was still standing.

“Driving around Malibu and looking at all the charred remains is not fun,” she said. “But considering what could have happened, we were all very lucky.

The actress is popular for her appearance in the hit western series Dr. Quinn, a doctor, which ran for six seasons in the 1990s. Seymour’s portrayal of Dr. Michaela Quinn—a doctor who leaves Boston in search of adventure—won her a 1996 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Drama.

After the show was canceled by CBS in 1998, many fans were disappointed and still yearn for a revival decades later.

Asked if there were any current plans for a reboot, Seymour said, “I don’t know about that.”

“I’m in the middle of my own series right now, Harry Wild,” she explained. “So we did that and a couple of years ago I made a Christmas movie. Joe Lando.”

However, the actress teased the possibility of a reunion between the two. “So people are actively trying to find other material that we can do together,” she said Our. “Whether it’s Quinn or something else. We love working together.”

Although Seymour’s Dr. Quinn, the doctor costar and she are now on good terms, according to Seymour they didn’t get along while filming the show because it happened right after they were dating in real life.

“We haven’t really spoken to each other other than in dialogue or cajoling for about six or seven years,” Seymour said earlier Our in an interview in 2019.

Seymour went on to explain that the pair “couldn’t” actually be “together” in “real life”. Despite the tension, Lando later became her “closest friend on the planet”.
