“Obviously there are places where you put in their doubles who have been with us since the beginning as well,” executive producer Christina Alexandra Vorosova said of the choreography of the fight scene between Reilly and Bentley’s characters in an interview with Variety posted on Tuesday, December 17th. “They learned how the actors move and studied it, so you have this element for the places where you want to pull out the mat and someone has to hit the ground and Kelly has 12 more days of shooting and nothing can happen to her. But Kelly and Wes have done most of this fight on their own.”
During the finale on Sunday, December 15, fans saw Beth (Reilly) go up against Jamie (Bentley) in their battle for their family’s farm. funeral for her fatherJohn Dutton, who he played Kevin Costner. Beth attacked Jamie with bear spray, leading to a violent altercation that ultimately resulted in Jamie’s death.
“Even if they don’t throw a punch or throw, the energy required to stay in that space is emotionally draining,” Voros continued. “So I think what people don’t realize when they see the fight is, yes, it looks real and gory and gruesome, but just to keep in that mindset that they’re so ferocious is asking a lot of the actors, to stay in headspace.”
Wes Bentley may have made it look easy on screen, but playing Jamie Dutton took its toll. Voros applauded Reilly, 47, and Bentley, 46, for their ability to keep their composure through all the intense choreography.
“Forget milk and bear spray and stings and all that. That’s the easy part,” she said. “I commend Kelly and Wes for being able to hold their own emotionally in this extreme state of war during this scene.
Following the finale of the Paramount Network drama, Reilly shared a photo of her and Bentley on set after finishing a fight scene.

Reilly continued, “It almost became her reason to live to fix it, to do it for him. She became his most loyal soldier. Over the course of the season, you saw her fall back in love with it. She did it for him. For the country. And for part of her soul.”
Ever since it was announced that Yellowstone would end with a 5th season, it has happened more split news in works with Reilly and Cole Hauserwho played her love interest, Rip Wheeler.
“I loved this season. There was some really different territory to explore, so I’m not sticking to it,” Reilly said City and country in November about a possible reprise of the role. “I’ll be happy to return it to its locked box.
