“OK”: Usyk’s response to Fury’s “pain” and “damage” vote

Oleksandr Usyk seemed completely unconcerned when told today that Tyson Fury had promised him “a lot of pain” and “damage” in their rematch this Saturday night.

Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) shrugged his shoulders as if to say, ‘Whatever,’ showing that he is not at all concerned about Fury’s empty threats and that he intends to be the one to administer “pain” and “damage.” in their rematch at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

After what Oleksandr did to Fury in their previous fights, it’s understandable why he doesn’t care about his bold talk. Tyson will have to do more than talk to worry two-time undisputed champion Usyk.

Does Fury need a break?

Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) appears to have been living a difficult life over the past seven months since his 12-round majority decision on May 18. Mentally and physically, he doesn’t seem ready for a rematch, but he’s being a trooper by moving forward. You have to respect that, but you might regret it if the result is worse than last time.

Former WBC heavyweight champion Fury appears to be pushing himself too hard and needs a very, very long rest in nursing homes. It is one of those places where they take care of you hand and foot, give you the best food, massages and sunlight.

He will obviously take a nice vacation after the fight, but if he loses to Usyk by knockout, he may retire. Eddie Hearn mentioned the possibility of Fury retiring if Usyk beats him, and that can’t be ruled out.

“I thought Usyk looked really good. I’m going for Tyson Fury. I want him to win. “I’m channeling my positivity and my vibes into him,” Eddie Hearn told the Grounds stompinghoping that Tyson Fury defeats Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday. “But how do you face Oleksandr Usyk? I do it because I’m patriotic, but how do you take him on in this fight?

“If this fight is a classic and Fury wins, it is very likely that we will see a trilogy. But you’ll also be presented with the possibility of AJ fighting Fury for the world heavyweight championship, which would be absolutely huge.

Post-fight scenarios

If Fury wins, Hearn may be lucky if he decides to delay the trilogy fight with Usyk and take the fight with Anthony Joshua next. That’s the smartest move Fury and his promoters can make because they can’t count on Joshua surviving his next fight without being defeated again.

Joshua is tired of finding himself in another rebuilding situation, and will face someone good to regain his self-esteem after losing to Daniel Dubois on September 21. That’s the problem. AJ is 35 years old, not young, and his resistance to punches seems to have disappeared after a long career. So if Fury ends his fight with Usyk with a win, he needs to persuade his promoters to face Joshua next.

“A lot of those fighters are coming to the end, but hopefully not because the new generation that is coming in has talent. But the established names there have been a great asset to the heavyweight division and boxing in general,” Hearn said.
