Pioneer presenter, 55, took to social media on Wednesday, December 18 to share the happy news that her eldest daughter, Alex, had given birth to her first child, a daughter named Sofia.
“Our first child had his first child,” Drummond he told her Instagram postwhich featured a photo of her holding the little one while sitting next to her husband Ladd Drummond in a hospital room.
“Thank you Lord, we will never be the same,” she added, sparking a barrage of comments from family, friends and fans.
“Sofia already loves her grandparents,” Alex, 27, wrote on her mother’s post, adding a crying emoji.
Ree’s daughter Paige, 24, responded:Grandma’s reree ❤️.”
Meantime, Sunny Anderson — Ree’s Food Network co-star — left a sweet note that read, “Sending you all everything you need in good spirits and rest and tissues for happy tears… all good things. Congratulations ❤️.”
Ree shared more images via her Instagram Stories, including close-ups of the sleeping baby wrapped in a blanket with a bow wrapped around his head.
“On a side note… How come hospital dressings have the same foot pattern as 30 years ago,” she wrote in one story, adding a laughing emoji. “Okay bye.”
In another story, she reposted Alex’s Instagram birth announcement which she published together with her husband Mauricio Scott on Wednesday.
“He’s here,” Alex captioned their photo tour. “18. December 2024. At 2:27 in the morning, our perfect girl arrived a few weeks early, just in time for Christmas! We are so in love and forever changed. Thank you Lord.”
The black and white images show Alex and Mauricia posing with their newborn moments after her arrival. In one emotional shot, Alex is in tears as he meets Sofia for the first time.

Earlier this year, Alex he announced that she and Scott are expanding their family. The couple tied the knot in 2021.
“We can’t wait to meet you baby,” Alex wrote via Instagram. “Baby Scott is joining the party this winter!”
At the time, Ree commented: “So happy for you two!! (And for the whole family!) I love you, Alex and Mauricio!”
The celebrity chef and lifestyle mogul is also mother to sons Bryce, 21, Jamar, 21, and Todd, 19, who she shares with Ladd.
Ree married her last summer blog to discuss Alex’s big milestone.
“My child will have a child. It’s surreal and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of leaving your body for a while (after hearing) news like this,” gushed the chef.
“We have no idea what it will be like to be a grandparent or how much it will change our lives,” she said, explaining that Alex is due in January 2025.
