Getty Images (2)Rachel “Raquel” Leviss continues to talk about her history of abuse by her ex-fiancé, James Kennedyhe was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.
Leviss, 29, took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday, December 18, to re-share a past post about her complicated feelings. regarding her romance with Kennedy, 32.
“I stand by what I wrote here. Being in an abusive relationship is confusing because you believe in the potential of your significant other and can’t understand how someone who says they love you is intentionally hurting you,” she wrote. “The bad times can be few, it’s easy to minimize the abuse and want to believe that the person is capable of change.”
Leviss did not name Kennedy, but the post is from 2018 when they were dating.

“I’ve been through so many emotions over the past week. Feeling happy and vindicated and also so sad and broken,” she continued. “I don’t want it to be swept under the rug like it was before.” So many of my podcasts talk about my experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder and gaining insight into how to overcome it.”
Reflecting on her own journey, Leviss expressed gratitude for how far she had come, adding: “Abuse can be hard to talk about and re-examine. I want to leave it on a positive note: We have a lot to look forward to next year. I am grateful for everyone who has provided grace and kind words of encouragement in difficult times and small victories.”
Leviss dated Kennedy from 2016 to 2021, which was documented on Bravo’s The Vanderpump Rules. During season 9, Leviss and Kennedy reunite in early 2022 they announced they were done their engagement.

That’s really what caused the panic attack because I wanted to say these things,” Leviss said on her “Rachel Goes Rogue” podcast in January. “There was more to the story and I held back and thought about everything because I knew it wasn’t a safe place. The anxiety grew so much that I couldn’t breathe. I felt faint. I didn’t see. And I just started hyperventilating.”

“I told them the story of how I planned to break up with James and how I intended to leave the ring box on the counter when he returned from Europe. All my stuff would be gone and I felt like that would be the safest way to break up with him,” she continued. “I didn’t go into detail about why we broke up and why I can’t be with him anymore.
