Gum-chewing, jacket-wearing Tyson Fury weighed in at 281 pounds, and the unified heavyweight champion climbed to 226 pounds at Friday’s weigh-in for his DAZN PPV rematch in the main event tomorrow night on Saturday, December 21 in Riyadh.
Fury’s weight is 21 pounds heavier than the 262 he weighed in his previous fight against Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) seven months earlier on May 18. After weighing in today, Fury landed some aerial punches and looked powerful for him.

Oleksandr Usyk: 226
Fury prepares for revenge
We don’t know if the extra weight will help Fury on Saturday night or hinder him against the lighter, faster, more athletic Usyk. We saw how the heavyweight of the 20s Cousin Carnera he was unable to use his massive size of over 280 pounds when fighting smaller wrestlers.
Could this be the same situation for Fury on Saturday night? Bigger isn’t better when fighting talents like Usyk, and it could mean Fury will make a louder noise when he hits the mat.
“There will be no surprises. Usyk is going to be brilliant. “He’s brilliant at all times,” Eddie Hearn told DAZN Boxing After Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk intervened today for their rematch.
“I think a lot of this depends on what Tyson Fury brings to the fight. Last time it was a close fight. People talk as if the last time was a cover-up. It was a very competitive fight. Tyson will have to do something extraordinary tomorrow night.
“He is capable of doing it. We have seen it in the past. Will you be able to present it tomorrow night? We’ll see. I’d love to see him do it. It’s great for boxing. The first fight was one of the best heavyweight fights I’ve ever seen. I’m very happy that we get to see the rematch. Fury is good at this, but it is very difficult to face the greatness of Oleksandr Usyk at the same time,” Hearn said.
