Meryl Streep and Martin Short Wedding in Throwback OMITB BTS Photos

Only murders in the building dropped throwback photos Meryl Streep and Martin Krátky decked out in wedding gear from the season 4 finale.

“#BehindTheScenes filming a wedding scene at 410 New York City May 2024. 🩷,” the Hulu series’ official account wrote alongside a carousel of images shared via Instagram on Friday, December 20.

The first image featured Streep, 75, and Short, 74, standing in front of a floral arch of white and pink roses outside the courtyard of the iconic Arconia building. Streep stunned in a floor-length cream dress with long sleeves and floral embellishments. Short looked in a lavender suit paired with a cream waistcoat, matching tie and scarf.

Pair they stood close together with their arms wrapped around each other and smiled at the camera. The post also included shots of other floral arrangements from the set, a gigantic wedding cake and the show’s beloved puppy Winnie, who belongs to Short’s character.

Meryl Streep was “in tears” as she chatted with Only Murders in the Building co-creator John Hoffman about her on-screen romance with Martin Short. “It’s one of the most unexpected twists,” Hoffman told Decider of Streep’s character, Loretta, falling in love with Short’s character Oliver, in an interview published Thursday, Oct. 24. Many crime comedy fans flocked to the comments section to joke that Streep and Short were they were rumored to be dating in real life they looked like a full pair.

“You could have (said) Meryl and Martin got married I would believe,” one user replied, while another replied: “Wdy behind the scenes I’m convinced it happened 🥹🤍✨.”

Short played Oliver in the film Buildin murders onlyg beside Steve Martin (who plays Charles) a Selena Gomez (who plays Mabel) since the series premiered in 2021. Streep joined the cast in Season 3 as Loretta, who is an actress and Oliver’s love interest. In season 4, Loretta and Oliver became engaged and their wedding took place in the season finale.

While the couple’s wedding was a success, Loretta and Oliver’s future is up in the air. In the finale, Loretta shared that she had to go to New Zealand days after the ceremony to film her show. Olivier insisted that the distance would work because he would stay in Arconia by Charles and Mabel’s side. Three has further investigation of the murder on their hands as the gatekeeper Arconia Lester (Teddy Coluca) was found dead in a fountain after Oliver’s wedding.

Only the murders in the building were restored for season 5 shortly after the fourth season premiered. Short, Martin and Gomez are expected to return, but no further casting announcements have been made yet.
