part The reason why Google started developing own Chrome browser— since 2008 — was to direct people to all kinds of web applications, from Google Docs to Gmail to Google Maps. And of course, Chrome has Google’s search engine.
However, if you love Google Chrome but have decided you’ve had enough of Google search, you can change the browser’s default search engine. You can switch to Bing, DuckDuckGo or any alternative search engine of your choice.
Maybe you feel like you’ve spent enough of your life browsing through Google’s sponsored links, or you’d rather use a search engine. without any AI. Whatever the reason, here’s how to change the default search engine in Google Chrome.
By default, when you type a search query in the address bar at the top of the Chrome interface and press Enter, you’ll see Google search results. If you open a new tab in the browser, you’ll also see the Google search engine front and center. Both of these settings can be changed from their default settings.
To select a new search engine for the address bar, click the three dots on the browser icon (top right), then select Parameters. On it Search engine icon, click Manage search engines and search. You get five options to switch between and some alternatives will already be listed. If the search engine you want to use is listed here, click the three dots to the right of it and select it Default. If you don’t see the search option you want, click it add next to Site search under the search engine list.
