Years before his past problems with porn were named in a lawsuit over his alleged behavior on set It ends with usdirector Justin Baldoni previously shared how he developed an “unhealthy” relationship with porn after being exposed to it at a young age.
“I was introduced to porn when I was ten years old. Long before I could ever, you know, have an erection or even know what I felt for what,” Baldoni, now 37, shared on the July 2021 episode. Sarah Grynberg‘with “Life Size” podcast. “We’ve sexualized this thing, so of course it becomes fascinating and interesting and you’re like, oh my god, boobs.” And then, you know, the hormones kick in.”
Baldoni added at the time that he “seeked refuge (in porn) when I felt alone or when I felt abandoned or when I felt hurt or something like that because it was a dopamine rush — I didn’t know it at the time.” I trained my brain at an early age to deal with pain with a dopamine hit.”
He shared on the podcast that while he never drank alcohol or took drugs, he could have a vice and use something in an “unhealthy” way.
“And I found myself going back to looking at pictures and videos of naked women throughout my life when I necessarily felt bad about myself,” he told Grynberg. “And I knew it was a problem for me to say I didn’t want to.
Baldoni is also the author of a book titled Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinitywhere he wrote extensively about his “relationship” with the porn industry and how it informs young men’s understanding of consent.
“I believe that especially the porn that young guys watch is very violent, and because we’re never sat down and taught about consent, we learn it through porn,” he said in 2021. “So what do you have? You have a whole generation of boys who think that if a girl says ‘no’ or ‘stop’ or ‘it hurts’ that means it’s good.”

Bryan FreedmanBaldoni’s attorney, addressed Lively’s allegations in a statement My Weeklywhich he called “completely false, outrageous and deliberately shameful”.
