Make-up artist-approved tips for a radiant holiday makeup look

Planning your beauty vacation can be overwhelming. There’s an abundance of Instagram photos, the need to make sure your makeup stays on during endless family parties, and maybe even the pressure to impress your opinionated mother-in-law (in the words of a viral TikTok video, “We listen and don’t judge…” ). But the good news is that highlighting your skin doesn’t have to be a stressful process, especially when you have red carpet-worthy tips and tricks.

Brown shares two ways to elevate a red lip. You can either “(choose) a formula that has gloss interwoven with pigment” or you can swipe “clear or sheer lip gloss” over red lipstick.

“I like to add (glitter) to the high points of the face to really accentuate the features,” says Brown. These areas include “the top of the cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the curve of the lips, and the center of the chin.”

“To keep the shimmer higher, choose subtle textures with small glitter particles,” Brown advises. The “shimmering champagne” shade is one of the most popular shades of Brown for the holiday season. “It’s perfect for a bold lip pop,” she points out. Brown spills two techniques that will come in handy whether you’re applying liquid or powder eyeshadow. For seamless application, “use your fingers or a tightly packed brush to gently tap the product onto your lids.”
