Passion for TV shows such as External banks, My lady Jane, NCIS: Hawaii and others resulted in a committed fan-led effort following disappointing cancellations and shocking character deaths.
My lady Jane is a prime example. Based on several historical novels, My lady Jane was a radical reconstruction Lady Jane Gray (Emily Bader) very short time as monarch after King Henry VIII’s son, Edward (Jordan Peters) died of tuberculosis. In this version, Jane and her husband, Guildford (Edward Bluemel), are not cut and Edward is not killed.
The chemistry between Jane and Guildford was the peak from 2024 — but apparently not for Prime Video, which got rid of it just seven weeks after premiering in June 2024. It didn’t take long for fans to push for the show’s return, either on the streaming service or elsewhere.
“The cast and crew have very clearly put their heart and soul into this project, creating a series that resonates deeply with viewers. My Lady Jane is the only show for and by women on Prime Video, and it’s exactly what female viewers want and need. To cut this story short is not only premature, but heartbreakingly unfair,” the mission statement reads campaign website. “Well, as devoted fans of the show, we simply cannot and will not stand! So the fight begins here!”

Since it happened right after the show introduced an ancient crown that could supposedly bring people back to life, viewers he used it as inspiration for his own fan-led project.
