Through her, Cassidy, 25, shared a photo of herself curled up with her and Payne’s dog, Nale. Instagram stories on Sunday, December 22. In the picture, Cassidy is seen with angel wings tattooed on her index and middle fingers.
The influencer simply superimposed a red heart emoji over the image, which shows Nala looking into the camera.
Cassidy and Payne had been raising Nala just a month before The One Direction singer has died at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor hotel room balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16.
“We have a little special guest with us today,” Cassidy said on Sept. 16 TikTok video featuring her and Payne’s new pet.
Cassidy said in the video that she was “so nervous” when she asked Payne to take the dog with her. She said she found a dog shelter near their home in Miami and said “Liam was totally on board.”

Cassidy and Payne settled on Nala after meeting three different dogs at the shelter, she said. “This dog…we thought he was the best fit for us. She is so sweet. She is only four months old. Her previous owners abandoned her and just dumped her in the shelter,” explained Cassidy. “We wanted to give her a second chance at a better life.”

On December 8, Cassidy shared a compilation video of her time with the late One Direction star via TikTok. Captioning the post “I love you,” the influencer began with shots of herself and Payne blowing kisses to the camera before sharing snaps from various outings. The couple were also seen dancing together, arms wrapped around each other, in another touching moment.
The quiet moments were also punctuated by a series of light-hearted memories, including footage of Payne, who was traveling with Cassidy just two weeks before his death, dragging his amused girlfriend’s legs across the kitchen floor and playing bowling with her.
