X Premium+ hikes prices by 37.5%, hitting some markets harder

X is raising prices for its premium subscription service by 37.5%, marking the biggest price increase since the platform was acquired by Elon Musk in 2022.

The Premium+ service will cost $22 per month in the US, Above $16takes effect from December 21, a company statement. Annual subscriptions will increase from $168 to $229.

X said it “adjusts” prices to support the experience it offers. Existing subscribers will be switched to current rates by January 20.

International markets are experiencing similar increases, with European Union prices rising from €16 to €21 per month. Canada will see Premium+ fares rise from $20 to $29.

Some markets are more affected than others. X Premium+, which completely removes ads among other features, will cost users in Nigeria from ₦7,300 to ₦34,000 monthly. Similarly, users in Turkey will have to pay between ₺300 and ₺770 for the premium X service.

The basic subscription of the platform is unchanged at $3 per month.
