Hyundai said Monday it will send customers who bought or leased an EV before Jan. 31 a free charging adapter that will give them access to Tesla’s supercharge network.

The free adapters will be available to eligible owners of the 2024 model year and earlier Kona Electric, Ioniq hatchback, Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 vehicles. Hyundai says the model year 2025 Ioniq 6, Ioniq 5 N and Kona Electric are also eligible.

Customers must request a free NAC adapter through the MyHyundai owners online portal.

Until then, every EV except Tesla used Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors.

Almost all other automakers have followed by forming their own partnerships with Tesla to offer the NAC adapter to their customers. Some, including Lucid, made plans connect the charging port to future EVs.
