Based on Carola the Lovingthe novel of the same name, tell me lies follows the messy relationship between college students Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White). He seemed to take the news well—until tell me lies jumped to the present during Evan’s wedding to Lucy’s friend Bree (Cat Missal). No one could find Stephen because Cat received a voicemail from Evan in which he confessed to cheating on her with Lucy.

Ordered by Hulu, Season 3 is expected to begin immediately after Cat learns of Lucy’s betrayal. It also remains to be seen whether Lucy breaks things off with Stephen for good in the current timeline, while viewers watch it crash and burn in the past.

“I’ve always had a sense of where they are in 2015 and what their dynamic is and what secrets they’re all hiding.
