The One Direction days are gone but Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik they’ve continued to make music — and headlines — over the years.
After forming and placing third on the UK version The X Factor in 2010, One Direction released four successful studio albums — Up All Night Take Me Home Midnight Memories and Four. However, after five years in the group, Malik was the first to leave the band, announcing his departure in March 2015.
Horan, Payne, Styles and Tomlinson released their fifth albumMade in AMwithout Malik. However, shortly after the record dropped, the remaining members of the band have announced that they are taking an extended hiatus. Less than a year laterus weekly in that he brought news the quartet decided “not to renew their recording contract”, eventually he calls it as a band.
In October 2024 Payne died at the age of 31.
