Taylor Swift he gently supported his friend Travis Kelce breaking the Kansas City Chiefs’ major touchdown record.
The pop star, 35, “liked” the Chiefs Instagram post celebrating Kelce, also 35, earning the most receiving touchdowns in KC history.
Kelce and the Chiefs faced the Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday, December 25, in which the tight end earned his third touchdown of the NFL season. His overall record is now surpassed Tony Gonzalez.
“It’s everything to me. Tony was a mentor to me, he was there for me (with every question I ever had),” Kelce said in a postgame interview. “I feel like I’m still trying to step into this guy’s shoes. He is such an incredible competitor and I love him so much. It’s an honor to be in talks with him.”
However, Swift was not present at Pennsylvania’s Acrisure Stadium to watch Kelce and the Chiefs win 29-10.
Last year, Taylor brought her parents, Scott and Andrea Swiftand her brother Austin Swiftwith her to Kansas City, Missouri, for Christmas. At that time the family attended the Kelce game against the Las Vegas Raiders at Arrowhead Stadium.
Despite a disappointing Christmas Day loss to the Chiefs in 2023, Kelce offered some insight into how he celebrated with Taylor and her family, crediting Austin, 32, with a revival of the holiday spirit dressing up in a Santa suit and handing out personal gifts.
“It was a total commitment. He killed it,” Travis recalled of him and his brother Jason Kelce “New Heights” podcast in December 2023. “He actually made me feel like a kid because his gift to me was straight out of the bag.”
He added: “(He) handed me a VHS of my favorite football movie of all time… Little giants.”
Despite the negativity from the game, Travis expressed gratitude to his loved ones who helped save the holiday.
“It ended well with good Christmas cheer and great people,” he said. “That always saves Christmas whether you lose to the Raiders or not.
Earlier this month My Weekly he exclusively revealed Taylor planned to host Christmas with her and Travis’ families this year.
The holiday comes just weeks after Taylor she closed it Eras Tour in Vancouver on December 8. The tour spanned 149 dates from March 2023 to December 2024 and spanned five continents, grossed over $2 billion and 10.1 million fans attended. She is now ready to enjoy some much needed rest.
“Taylor is exhausted,” the source exclusively said Our earlier this month. “She is. excited for some relaxation and downtime.”
Of course, Taylor’s time off will include Travis after he has struggled with their busy schedules since their relationship began in the summer of 2023.
“Taylor plans to stay and hibernate (with Travis) for a while,” the insider said. “They want to do ‘normal things’ as a couple.”
As the pair consider the next step in their relationship, a source said their two families are “very connected,” adding that it seems “like they’ve been a part of each other’s (lives) for years.”
