Hallmark Channel The Way Home Season 3: Everything to Know

Get ready to jump back in time in Season 3 The way home premiering on the Hallmark Channel in the new year.

The network announced in March 2024 that the magical and mystical series would return for a third season — and this time, another decade would be explored. During Season 1, fans met Kat (Chyler Leigh) and her daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) when they moved in with Kat’s mother Del Landry (Andie MacDowell), after Kat’s divorce.

Viewers quickly learned that the Landry women had a checkered history with the town after Kat’s little brother Jacob went missing when he was a child. While delving deeper into their family past, Alice accidentally begins traveling through time – using a magical pond on their property – and discovers that she has befriended a younger version of Kat from 1999.

Season 2 added another time period where Kat traveled back to 1814. While there she discovered that her brother (the adult version of Jacob played by Spencer Macpherson) lived and lived at that time.

When it comes to Season 3, Hallmark teased that the Landry women will be thrown into the world of 1974, when Del met her now-deceased husband Colton (Jefferson Brown).

Who’s Returning for Season 3?

MacDowell, Leigh and Laflamme-Snow are all returning as the ladies of Landry. Macpherson will also return as Kat’s long-lost brother Jacob, and Brown will continue in flashbacks as the late Colton Landry. Evan Williams reprises his role as Kat’s beloved Elliot Augustine.

How did season 2 end?

After a complicated relationship with 1814, when Kat met her brother as an adult and helped save him from the Redcoats, she tried to convince him to jump into the pond and return to modern times. During the Season 2 finale, which aired in March 2024, Kat broke off relations with her Revolutionary War love interest Thomas Coyle (Kris Holden-Reid) and gave her romance with childhood best friend Elliot a second chance.

If that wasn’t enough drama, Jacob followed Kat back to the present, much to his sister’s surprise. As the episode ended, the siblings prepared to see their mother and explained that they had traveled through time with the help of their family pond.

Another cliffhanger revealed that Colton was currently stalking Landry’s house. This means that he too has been traveling through time since his death.

What can fans expect from the season 3 premiere?

Hallmark made the announcement in November season 3 picks up with Kat and Jacob “about to walk into Landry’s house to an unsuspecting Del”.

According to the press release, “Viewers will be introduced to a new era where Alice will visit. During her stay, she meets compelling characters whose stories add context to the Landry history and provide answers to some questions… but open up new ones.”

Kat, meanwhile: “She tries to close the door on the 19th century after making surprising discoveries.” In the present, she and Elliot are “going through a new chapter in their relationship, while he finds himself facing his own complicated past,” according to the synopsis.

Will Elliot and Kat stay together in Season 3?

“Season 3 shows that there needs to be some growth for both Kat and Elliot,” Williams said. TVLine in December 2024. “And I’m glad the writers aren’t simplifying it either. Like, it’s not a binary thing, so if they can find their way to each other, it’s going to be a lot more rewarding.”

What happens in The Way Home season 3 trailer?

Hallmark released theirs first trailer in November 2024revealing that both Alice and Kat will return to 1974. According to the trailer, “the mystery deepens” as the women watch Del and Colton’s love story unfold over the summer they met.

IN the second trailerAlice learns that “someone other than us is traveling through time”, but does not reveal their identity. At one point, Kat realizes that Alice has “sucked in time somewhere” before she shows up at a summer event where her grandma and grandpa are hanging out.

As Alice learns more about her grandparents, Del asks Kat to “stop running and choose us” in the present.

Kat, meanwhile, seems to be fully dating Elliot, according to the second trailer. “Speaking of endings and new beginnings…” Elliot says while dancing with Kat.

Finally, the video shows confirmation that Jacob is returning home to the present, but does not show if he sees his mother or if he stays for long.

Where can you watch The Way Home Season 3?

The new season was originally scheduled to air exclusively on Hallmark’s streaming service, Hallmark+, but that has since changed.

In December, the network announced that “due to overwhelming demand” The way home will air Fridays at 9pm ET on the Hallmark Channel. New episodes will be available on Hallmark+ the following day.
