LG may be holding its first big CES press conference, but the Korean electronics giant still can’t help but announce a number of its products ahead of the show. As always, the news stack is mixed with a few interesting additions. These plant bulbs it certainly qualifies as the latter.
Details on the products, including pricing and availability, are scarce ahead of LG’s press release on January 6. The company introduced two different configurations: a “contemporary floor lamp design” and a “new indoor gardening device with a nature-inspired side table design.” The products aim to integrate home plant care into living room furniture.
The bulb design features an LED grow light and a 1.5 gallon tank for watering cycles. These can be programmed via LG’s ThinQ software to keep the plant hydrated when users are out of town for up to a week.
Less is known about the “appliance” system, though LG notes, “This compact, multi-functional model delivers an easy, enjoyable home gardening experience and demonstrates LG’s continued commitment to providing attractive options for a variety of tastes and lifestyles.”
The product will join some of LG’s existing factory technologies, including the Tiiun grow system It was introduced in 2022.
