Andi Dorfman underwent “fast/safe procedure” in the hospital less than a week after giving birth.
“Hello, we’re back! This time for mom (a minor setback and needs a quick/safe procedure) but first I gave this little nugget a quick snuggle,” Dorfman, 37, wrote via Instagram Story on Saturday, Dec. 28, sharing a hospital selfie with her young daughter.
She added: “The lesson: No matter how clueless you are about motherhood, you still know your body best! Listen to it! Yes, recovery is hard and everyone is different, but your instincts are valid (and probably correct).
Former Bachelorette she gave birth to a daughter, Harper Bell On December 20, her first baby with her husband Blaine Hart. After they were released from the maternity ward, Dorfman began experiencing “a ton of pain.”

“It was getting worse every day,” she recalled Saturday. “Despite the internet saying it takes time to recover, I still felt something was wrong and finally after trying all the home remedies I called my doctors and they told me to come in right away.”
Dorfman was diagnosed “one large and one small hematoma” which made her uncomfortable. According to the Cleveland Clinic, a hematoma is defined as a closed wound where blood collects and fills a space inside your body because it cannot flow or drain.

Courtesy of Andi Dorfman/Instagram“Within hours we were at the hospital preparing for surgery,” Dorfman wrote Saturday. “Very straight forward procedure, but still pretty decent to have a 6 day old baby and lots of hormones still lurking around.”
The former lawyer went on to stress the importance of trusting “your body” and your instincts when something feels off.

“Trust that your doctors really care about your health and well-being, and don’t be afraid to reach out to them,” Dorfman concluded. “I felt guilty for worrying about myself instead of my daughter, but I realized she’s no good when I’m no good.” I hope this helps anyone who is doubting their postpartum recovery.”
Dorfman went on to become famous Juan Pablo Galavis18th season Bachelor in 2014, he later became another Bachelorette. In her season, Dorfman got engaged Josh Murray only to be divided into months. She later found love with Hart and they tied the knot in 2023. Dorfman announced in August that she was pregnant with the couple’s first child.
“Introducing… Harper Bell Hart,” Dorfman wrote via Instagram on Dec. 22. “Our sweet baby girl came into this world at a solid 7 pounds 13 ounces and towered as tall as her daddy at 20.5 inches! We are more in love with her than we could ever imagine. I’m crying on the spot just looking at her and daddy is completely wrapped around her cute little finger.’
