Golden boy vs. Match room 5 vs. 5 Event on the table, says De La Hoya

Promoter Oscar De La Hoya revealed that he is in talks to hold a Golden Boy Promotions – Matchroom Boxing 5 vs. 5 event in 2025.

This would be a contest for De La Hoya to pit five of his best Golden Boy fighters against Eddie Hearn’s best five available fighters. The two fighters would compete to show who has the best.

Golden Boy-Matchroom Showdown

“We continue to discuss and prepare to do great things in 2025,” Golden Boy promoter Oscar De La Hoya told Fight Hub TV about planning to do a 5-on-5 competition with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing next year.

De La Hoya already has one of his fighters, Floyd Schofield Jr., challenging Hearn’s fighter, WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson, on February 22 at the Turki Al-Sheikh event in Riyadh. Oscar is confident that Schofield will defeat Shakur in that fight.
