Adrianne Curry traded the catwalk for the wilds of Montana, where she lives with her husband, Matthew Rhode.

“I have lived VERY far away for the past seven years,” Curry, 42, wrote. X on Friday, December 27. “I can go months without hooking up (with someone other than my husband). My life is lived in the stormy, beautiful silence of the wilderness.”

She added: “In big groups/cities I get overwhelmed easily now. It can take days to decompress from the experience.”

That’s a plus Curry’s frequent solitude.

“I’m more attuned to the Earth than I’ve ever been in my life,” she explained. “My awareness of the forest and what’s around me in it is pretty sharp.

A few hours later, Curry shared another picture of her Montana paradise Instagram.

“There’s nowhere for you to be. You are meant to be,” she wrote on Saturday, December 28. “It’s easy. All you need is love.”

Along with her reflective caption, Curry shared a photo with husband Rho.

Curry became famous in the first season America’s next top model in 2003, where she took home the coveted prize package of a modeling contract, brand deals and more. After nine years in the fashion industry, Curry retired.

“(America’s next top model was) a polished gem that prepared me for the terrible truth that I couldn’t trust anyone, not even the people I thought I could, even though I knew I was still screwed,” she said People in July. “I’m thankful that things didn’t turn out the way they should have because I don’t think I would have been a very good person if I had made it big in modeling.”
