Sober Confessions: Celebrities Who Announce They’ve Quit Drugs and Alcohol

The Everybody likes Raymond star posted a video in July 2021 sharing the exciting milestone. “It is July when we celebrate our nation’s freedom. For me, it’s also a celebration of three years of freedom from alcohol,” she said on the three-kilometer hike. “I just wanted to share it with you. And drop me a line if any of you are thinking about doing it, any of you are doing it right now and need some encouragement or anything at all. Have a great time.”

Center star revealed that her kids were the reason she decided to get sober in a candid September 2021 interview on the website “Heart of the Matter” podcast..

While saw shooting Ray Romanositcom that ran from 1996 to 2005, her drinking worsened after her four sons moved away. “I just noticed that if it was 5 p.m. and I didn’t have anything to do the next day, I would automatically start drinking,” the actress said, adding that she “really started looking forward to drinking and thinking about it in a way that I hadn’t before .”

However, it was a birthday dinner for one of her sons that made her realize she had a problem.

“During the five or six hours we were together, I was just filling my glass with red wine. I don’t know how many drinks it was, and I felt completely sober and fine,” he said Act Two of Carol said the star. “I was making a joke at the table and I started saying, ‘You know, it’s a tradition in our family…’ And I couldn’t say the word ‘tradition.’ I tried three times and couldn’t get the word out.”

One of her sons remarked that she was unable to say the word in front of everyone. “And I was so humiliated,” she says, adding, “It shook me. I thought, ‘This is it. That’s it… It had all the elements I needed. It had a logical element to it, and it had this, ‘Oh my God, my sons have seen me drink too much’.”

The next day at breakfast Back to you the actress said she told the friend, “Well, you’re the first person I’ve told this to, but this is my first day of never drinking again.”
