The Giant Freakin Robot reactivates

According to Joshua Tyler
| Published

GIANT CRAZY ROBOT is activated again. In November, Google shut down the website, but in the last month things have started to pick up again. You won’t want to miss it.

I plan to continue to practice complete transparency throughout this process. Here’s what happened, what I did about it, and what I’m doing differently.

Rise and fall and rise and fall and rise GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT

GIANT CRAZY ROBOT began testing the waters for a return in December. After months of Google’s shadow ban (more about what happened here), there were signs that the shadow ban had been lifted.

We’ve been shadowbanned and unshadowbanned four times in the last two years, despite Google he tells me directly that there is nothing wrong with this site. The longest and last shadowban lasted almost four months. At the time, Google told us flat out that we weren’t going to recover anytime soon. As a result, I was forced to lay off our entire staff and stop publishing.

Although Google directly told us that nothing would be fixed, now it appears that it is. It’s like we’re the mouse and Google is an unusually mischievous cat. From a mouse perspective, it’s not fun to play with. It ruins people’s lives. Of course the cat doesn’t care.

The web giant that rules the internet has decided that people can read our content again. Not as much as they used to be, we’re still throttled, but at least it’s possible to see some of what we’re doing.

So Giant Freakin Robot will resume publishing on a limited basis. We won’t be able to bring back 90% of our staff, but we will be able to produce new and interesting content more consistently. That is, until Google stops us again.

A different approach for the return of the GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT

News is dead. We won’t do it again.

The future of news is on social media platforms like X, where the facts of what happens can be expressed in a sentence or two. Websites no longer have a place in reports. Also, as any entertainment writer will tell you, the news is the thing they hate writing the most.

You don’t want it, we don’t want it, so we don’t do it.

Instead, we’ll focus on more complex comments, recommendations, discussion and opinions. If it doesn’t take more than a sentence or two to convey, we won’t write about it. No one should. That’s why platforms are liked X exist.

Most of it GIANT CRAZY ROBOT publishes will be based on what our authors suggest themselves. This means that you will only read content on this site about the topics we are most expert and passionate about. Writers design their own stories and we let them write what they want because we know they want the same things our readers want. Everyone wins.

Above all, we will continue to do so focus on YouTube. It’s an excellent platform and the best place to set up shop if you want to survive the web’s shift towards corporate ownership Zero Click Internet. ZCI is inevitable; the fight is over.

Mass independent publishing is now over as well. Independent publishers are no longer allowed to compete large media companies. That’s okay because their keyword manipulation business model is already dead.
