Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie They’ve been locked in a messy court battle since she filed for divorce in September 2016, but they were not always at odds.

The Oscar winners are said to have fallen for each other while filming the 2005 action film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The origin of their relationship immediately caused controversy because Pitt was married Jennifer Aniston at that time. The Friends alum filed for divorce from Pitt in March 2005.

Pitt and Jolie welcomed a daughter Shiloh in 2006, the same year they adopted a son Maddox and daughter Zahara. Jolie’s adopted son Pax in 2007 (Pitt followed in 2008). Their twins, Knox and Viviennewere born in July 2008.

The couple officially tied the knot in France in August 2014, only until call it two years later. Jolie accused her ex of being “physically and emotionally abusive” towards her and their children on a flight from California to France in September 2016, which Pitt has denied. The couple settled their divorce eight years later in December 2024.

Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie in February 2022, claiming that she illegally sold her share of the French winery Château Miraval without his permission.
