Hoda Kotb she often talked about how her life was defined by those close to her—especially her daughters, Haley and Hope.
The Today the anchor became a mother when she adopted her young children 2017 and 2019or with your partner at the time, Joel Schiffman. The former couple got engaged after six years of dating in 2019 before call it ends in 2022.
When it comes to raising her children, Hoda has often credited her mother, Sameha Kotbfor inspiring her approach to parenting. “She was a great mom. She was strict,” she said Today in 2016. “That’s how we lived. You understood what it didn’t mean. There was no ‘But everyone else does it’. She couldn’t care less what anyone else was doing.’
After her breakup with Schiffman, Hoda discussed the lessons she tried to instill in Haley and Hope.
“I think one thing I want to work on with my girls as well is that they have a voice,” she exclusively said My Weekly in November 2022. “(We teach them about) being brave enough to say what they need, what they want, and not feel greedy or too or too bossy. I think I want my girls to be more vocal and say what they want, not be afraid and not try to conform to what other people want.’
