Kristen Bell ends the year by giving a helping hand to people in need.
The actress (44) recently linked up with the social media personality Tommy Marcusbetter known as Quentin Quarantino, donate thousands of dollars to people who have trouble paying their medical bills. In the DM screenshots shared by Marcus via Instagram on Monday, December 30, Marcus reached out to Bell to help raise funds for one health-related GoFundMe page a day.
Bell was game for the idea and subsequently met the rest of the GoFundMe page’s fundraising goal. “We need to do more stuff like this, the world needs it 💕,” she wrote in one DM.
In another message, Bell asked: “How can I give 100,000 people who need it for medical bills? I want to make sure we’re doing it the best way we’re doing it??”
Marcus responded by suggesting that for every fundraiser he posted on his page, Bell could “shut it down” once he reached his halfway goal. “For example, the next one needs to raise around $50,000, so once it reaches $25,000 from followers, do you donate $25,000 and we move on to the next one?” he asked.
An excited Bell replied, “YES!! TOMMY GO FOR IT!”
According to one GoFundMe page Bell donated $20,932 on Marcus’ profile to help third-grader Mia fight leukemia, helping the fundraiser surpass its $50,000 goal. Bell helped next page reach their fundraising goal and donate $24,182 to a man named Murilo who is also battling leukemia.
Thanks to Bell’s help, Marcus said the latest fundraising campaign on his page “has the chance to be one of the most important and impactful pieces of work we’ve ever done.” Captioning the Instagram post, he wrote: “The more you can donate, share, like, comment, do anything to make it a movement – the more generous high-profile people there are, the more likely it will become a huge thing. get involved like Kristen and overall be the movement we are creating to save and change so many lives.”
Marcus continued to gulp about Bell in an Instagram story on Monday, writing, “Thank you @kristenanniebell for listening to my idea, deciding to be a catalyst to help these (people) get to where they need to be, and for she helped us get started. movement.”
For her part, Bell shared links to Mia and Murilo’s GoFundMe pages via her Instagram Story on Monday.
Bell’s generous gifts come shortly after she rang in the holidays with her husband, Dax Shepardand their daughters Lincoln (11) and Delta (10). In addition to visiting the ceremonial Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge, California, Bell drew inspiration from The Wizard of Oz and Evil on her family’s Christmas tree.
She shared a picture of her creation via Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 25, which she captioned with pink and green heart emojis. In addition to the Yellow Brick Road and the legs of the Wicked Witch of the East sticking out from under the tree’s skirt, the tree was decorated with pink and green ornaments and decorated with angels inspired by Glinda and Elphaba.
