Indonesia says 2024 budget deficit below 2.7% of GDP estimate By Reuters


JAKARTA (Reuters) – Indonesia’s budget deficit for fiscal year 2024 came in below the government’s latest budget of 2.7 percent of gross domestic product, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said on Thursday.

Without talking about the exact figure, Sri Mulyani said the deficit is almost as narrow as the government’s initial plan to keep the fiscal deficit at 2.29% of GDP.

Details will be revealed later, he said at an event marking the opening of the stock exchange’s new year.
