Tesla Cybertruck 2024 failed to increase sales as annual deliveries fell for the first time

Tesla delivered fewer cars last year than it expected in 2023, marking its first year-over-year decline and showing the company is struggling to reach new buyers. That means Tesla’s Cybertruck, the company’s first true new model since 2020, has done little to boost the company’s growth in its first year of sales.

The company announced this on Thursday was delivered 1.77 million vehicles globally in 2024, down from 1.81 million in 2023. Of those delivered, only 85,133 are what Tesla calls “other models,” which include the older Model S sedan, Model X SUV and Cybertruck. Shares of Tesla, which have been on the run since CEO Elon Musk helped Donald Trump win re-election in November, have fallen in premarket trading.
