The iPhone SE may get a new name when it goes on sale this year

New year, new smartphone rumors. This rumor is not that new. It’s been in the zeitgeist since 2024, when people bet that Apple will launch the fourth-generation iPhone SE along with the iPhone 16. Apple will likely launch the iPhone SE this year, but it will carry a different moniker than you’ve heard. .

The next iPhone SE will be called iPhone 16E. The leaker who broke the news posted renders Twitter/X/whatever of the case that fits the phone. The iPhone 16E will have a similar design iPhone 14. Instead of rounded edges and a sub-5-inch display, the iPhone 16E may have squared edges with standard volume buttons, the mute button on the left and the power button on the right.
