Aubrey Plaza and Jeff Brothers they were together for more than a decade before his death in 2025.
The couple started dating in 2011, but have never confirmed exactly when they met or when their love story began.

Before starting production on Spin mePlaza shared a celebratory post for Baena on Instagram and praised his film. She too subtly revealed that the two tied the knot.
“I am so proud of my beloved husband,” Plaza wrote in May 2021. “For making up another movie that takes us to Italy to cause more trouble.”

Plaza and Baena have been dating since 2011, but it is not known when they started dating.

Baena made his directorial debut in 2014 Life after Bethwhere Plaza played the main character.
Plaza debuted as a film producer alongside Baena on Small hoursin which she played a nun named Sister Fernanda.

Plaza’s dark humor inspired a unique Valentine’s Day Instagram post with her husband. The two took a picture, but Plaza put a dagger to Baena’s face. “And Happy Valentine’s Day,” she captioned the photo, adding a heart emoji.
In celebration of Baena’s film Spin me in May, Plaza quietly announced that she and Baena had tied the knot. “So proud of my beloved husband,” she wrote on Instagram.
She later shared the whole story further The Ellen DeGeneres Show in December of that year.
“We were a little bored one night,” he said Parks and Recreation alum revoked. “We got married and I’ll tell you how: Onehourmarriage.com. That’s right, look at it.”
Plaza went on to explain how she had to negotiate to get the officiant to agree to drive to her home and perform the ceremony in their backyard. She enlisted her neighbor—whom she described as a true witch—to receive her spiritual blessing.
“I created a very quick altar of love in our yard. The facts of our love, stones, smoke, fire. Things of that nature. Then the Alhambra man appeared,” Plaza continued. “I don’t remember much, it was a blur. But I’m pretty sure it was legal.”

Spin me premiered in the United States in August, starring Plaza alongside a co-writer Alison Brie.
A few months later, the Plaza opened GQ on her marriage to Baena, comparing her life to that of her characters on White lotusHarper.
“I’ve been with my husband for 12 years,” she said in November. “I relate to being in a relationship that has its ups and downs and going through a rough patch and comparing myself to another couple that seems perfect.”
News broke it Baena died at the age of 47. The cause of death was not immediately released, and Plaza did not issue a statement.
