Brave woman, 71, defends the violent attack of 4 teenage girls in the Blue City subway

A staunch 71-year-old woman gave a group of would-be teenage muggers a taste of their own medicine when they tried to mug the elderly man on his way to church on New Year’s Day.

The victim was headed to a New Year’s Day church service in Brooklyn around 6 p.m. when she got off a No. 3 train at the Hoyt station, only to be attacked by the teens, according to the NYPD and a New York Post report.

Police say the four suspects tried to steal the woman’s purse and hit her on the body. The NYPD released a video of the group smiling as they pass through subway turnstiles and police say they are still on the loose. They have asked for the public’s help in locating them.

The woman, identified by the Post as Linda Rosa of East New York, detailed the disturbing attack on the publication and said she was convinced it would not be robbed.

Rosa said after one of the teens tried to grab her bag while a second also tried to get her fingers sticky and asked the older girl if she wanted to fight.

The first teen then punched Rosa in the face, knocking her glasses to the ground, while the second teen managed to snatch a pocket bag containing Rosa’s identification and medical records, he said.

“I was still fighting with the first person,” Rosa told the Post. “So I was trying to kick her between her legs, but my leg wasn’t stretching enough, so I think that’s when I fell. I fell and then she stomped on me.”

Fearing that the law that disobeys teenagers would trample on her head, Rosa said she fought back.

“So I immediately stood up and with that, I grabbed her braids and twirled them around my right hand, and then I pulled her down. Her head was down,” Rosa said. “Then the other young woman said, ‘Let her go.’ And I said, ‘Oh, no, I’m not letting her go.'”

The brave older girl screamed for someone to help her and then the second teenager came back to look for her.

“So out of nowhere, I grabbed her hair and twisted it around my left hand,” Rosa said. “So I put them both face down… (like) rams when they get ready to fight.”

Rosa said the other two teens yelled at her to let them go and Rosa then screamed for help.

The older man finally let go of them and the stunned teens ran out of the subway system.

Rosa then headed to the nearby Brooklyn Tabernacle Church, where staff treated her and called 911, according to the Post.

The police say Fox News Digital that the victim suffered minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Brooklyn Hospital Center in stable condition.

She told the Post she was grateful they didn’t have guns and that the terrifying experience didn’t give her a heart attack.

However, he said he forgives them.

“They don’t know what they’re doing,” Rosa told the Post. “They don’t know what they did. They’re just teenagers acting stupid.”

He said that today no one is safe in the New York City subway system or on the streets.

“It could happen to anyone,” Rosa said. “Now we are seeing older people being attacked. Anywhere: It can happen anywhere and in any season. You could be walking down the street. “You could be crossing the street.”

The attack came just a day after a 45-year-old man was pushed into an approaching subway train in manhattan. He suffered a head injury and was miraculously in stable condition.

Days earlier, police say an illegal immigrant from Guatemala set fire to and horrifically burned a woman on a subway train in Brooklyn, New York.

The crimes occur despite the governor of New York, Kathy Hochul promoting the subway system as safe.
