Diane Keaton was captivating the audience since the 1970s – and shows no signs of stopping.
After her theatrical debut in original production 1968 from Broadway HairKeaton turned to film. Her first role was in the 70s Lovers and Other Strangerstwo years before she got her big break Francis Ford Coppola‘with Godfather.
“I always thought I was the weirdest, weirdest person in the movie, and ‘Why was I cast in it?’ and I had no voice,” Keaton said of her character Kay Adams at the celebration 45th anniversary of the original film at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival. “But then I had some good scenes.” Al (Pacino).”
The Oscar winner admitted at the time that she hadn’t seen the cult mafia movie in almost three decades. “I saw it on my computer. I haven’t seen it in I think 30 years,” she said. “And … I just remember all the people, I couldn’t take it, it was so amazing, it was so beautiful, and everyone is so great in it, and the music, and every choice that (Coppola) made.”
Keaton appeared in the 1974 sequel to the franchise and the 1990 sequel. While its dramatic twists are award-worthy, fans also love Then again the author’s comedic timing in Annie Hall, Father of the Bride, The Family Stone and others.
“Diane, of course, was kind of our lead in the movie,” Family stone costar Luke Wilson exclusively he said My Weekly in December 2021. “She would never say it, but everyone admired her so much.
