“Engaged 3/1/25 ❤️💍♾️,” Burton, 54, wrote Instagram on Saturday, Jan. 4, along with a screening of the couple’s sweet engagement photos. One image captured the moment Burton got down on one knee and popped the question.
Burton’s caption continued: “Jeremiah 29:11. ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'”
Supporters flooded the comments section to congratulate the happy couple, including Burton General Hospital costars.

Congratulations!” the costar wrote Rick Hearstwhile a fellow cast member Finola Hughes he blurted out, “Congratulations! I wish you both the best of luck in the future, you are an amazing couple! Congratulations, Michelle!”
Burton was previously married Sheree Gustin from 1999 to 2022, with whom he has three children: daughters Makena and Brooklyn and son Jack.
Burton’s last marriage made headlines in May 2022 when it was revealed that he and Gustin, 46, had separated after 23 years of marriage and she was expecting a child with another man. (The couple legally separated in March of that year.)
“I wanted to clarify something. Sheree and I are separated. She recently announced that she is expecting her fourth child. That child is not mine,” General Hospital star wrote online at the time. “We are still raising our three beautiful children. We would appreciate privacy at this time. Good luck, Steve.”

As for Burton, the soap opera star confirmed his and Lundstrom’s relationship to Daily drama in May 2024, but only in the following months did the pair get theirs debut on the red carpet at the Daytime Emmy Awards last June.
“Our first red carpet together. It was a dream night from start to finish,” Lundstrom wrote on Instagram in June while enjoying a night with her partner. “Thank you for all the beautiful, kind comments and messages. I am truly grateful ❤️🙏🏼.”
At that time Burton’s General Hospital costar Kirsten Storms he wrote in the comments: “You two are so cute together it’s almost hard to look at this photo. 🥰❤️.”
