Taylor Swift’s ex-boyfriendJoe Alwyn, has moved on from his relationship and feels other people should too.
The actor spoke with the guardian about his upcoming film, “The Brutalist,” and when asked if he was ready to move on from the relationship and the attention that came with it, he made it clear that he was.
“That’s something other people can do,” he told the outlet. “We’re talking about something that happened a while ago in my life. So that’s for other people. That’s how I feel.”
Swift and Alwyn dated for six years and remained very private during that time.

The actor was asked if he was worried that their relationship would overshadow his career, which includes award-winning films like “The Favorite.”
“I’ve tried to focus on controlling what I can control,” he said, “and, from the beginning, I’ve tried to focus on the things that are meaningful to me: friends, family, work, of course. Under the pseudonym William Bowery, he is credited on two songs, “Exile” and “Betty”, and as co-producer under his real name on several more songs on “Folklore”, winning a Grammy alongside Swift in 2021 for album of the year. .
“Lockdown was a lot of surprises and it was quite special,” he said of the experience. “That was not something I had anticipated.”

Their relationship came to an end in early 2023, near the start of the singer’s record-breaking “Eras Tour.”

“The relationship had just run its course,” the source added, explaining that the former couple’s split was the reason Alwyn hadn’t been seen attending any of Swift’s “Eras Tour” shows.
Alwyn, like many of Swift’s exes, came under intense scrutiny from her fans, who reviewed her lyrics, particularly her latest album, “The Department of Tortured Poets” looking for clues to the rise and fall of the relationship.
Earlier this year, the 33-year-old spoke to The Sunday Times style on the fervent attention of the public.
“So suddenly you have something very real thrown into a very unreal space – the tabloids, social media, the press – where it is then dissected, speculated on, warped beyond recognition,” Alwyn said. “And the truth is, until that last point, there will always be a gap between what is known and what is said.”

“I’ve made peace with that,” Alwyn added.
He also told the outlet that he and Swift “mutually” made the decision to “keep the most private details of our relationship private.”
“It was never something that could be commodified and I don’t see any reason to change that now,” Alwyn said. “And look, this was also a little over a year ago and I feel lucky to be in a great place in my life, professionally and personally. I feel really good.”
During that interview, Alwyn refused to answer whether he was still in contact with Swift or the status of his love life.
