The marry me star shared details of the couple’s wedding celebrations in Georgia in the September issue of her “On the J.Lo” newsletter.
“It rained every day at sunset that week. Everyone was worried about the heat, the aptly named “love bugs”, the details of whether all the guests would arrive on time, etc. – not to mention the thunder and lightning that came almost on cue every day right around the time the ceremony took place. was supposed to start on Saturday,” Lopez wrote. “Oh, and we all caught the stomach bug and were recovering for the rest of the week, which, along with a few other unexpected obstacles, had all the makings of a wedding weekend.”
Despite various concerns, the “Let’s Get Loud” singer revealed that she “never doubted” that the wedding would go off without a hitch. “The sun came out” just minutes before the couple said “I do,” and Lopez called it “one of the most perfect moments” of their lives.
“The sky was bright blue and distant pure white clouds held fast to the sky. As the sun set behind live oaks draped in Spanish moss, a warm breeze wafted across the lawn where our closest family and friends sat, and I finally made my way up the stairs that became the alley that led me to the rest of my life. Ahhhhh…it actually happened,” she breathed out of the romantic ceremony.
The New York native also revealed the song she played during the first dance — “The Things We Handed Down” by Marc Cohn — and talked about serenading her husband at the reception, which Good Will Hunting the star is holding its breath.
“When he saw me appear at the top of the stairs at that moment, it made absolute sense, and yet it still seemed impossibly believable, like the best dream where all you want is to never wake up,” Lopez remarked when I got close enough. seeing his face gave me the same wonderful sense that that day some old wounds were healed and the weight of the past finally lifted from our shoulders – and not at all in the way we had planned.
