Influencer Carol Acostaknown online as Killadamente, died at the age of 27.
Acosta’s sister Katyan confirmed the influencer’s death via Instagram Story Daily Mail. “I love you sister and I will always love you,” Katyan captioned a photo of her sister, whose Killadamente Instagram account boasted more than 6 million followers, smiling for the camera. “I thank God for giving me a sister like you, with your big heart. Rest in peace my sister.”
While unconfirmed reports suggest that Acosta choked on food during a dinner with her family, the cause of Acosta’s death has not been confirmed.
Acosta died on Friday, January 3, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her family to cover her funeral costs, saying: “At a young age, (Carol) was able to help thousands of people through her work, but on this occasion we come together and ask for your help in saying goodbye to her. as he deserves.”
The statement continued: “Any contribution, no matter how small, will help cover funeral costs and support her family and children as they face this unimaginable loss. The GoFundMe was started by Acosta’s sister, Elizabeth, and has raised nearly all of its $26,000 so far.
Acosta, who was born in the Dominican Republic, is survived by her two children, Reina and Legend. Katyan shared a link to her sister’s GoFundMe via Instagram story on Sunday, January 6, along with another heartfelt message.
“I know you will always be with me, my sister, my partner and my best friend, sister,” she wrote. “I love you and always will. If you would like to support our family with funeral expenses, click here.”
Acosta was a fashion influencer known for her body positivity content, fashion and beauty tips, and domestic violence and bullying activism. Her signature hashtag “#meamoynomeimporta,” which translates to “I love myself and I don’t care,” was even featured on a billboard in New York’s Times Square in November 2020. “Thank you, God! Dreams come true 🎉 💓 Let’s do more!” she wrote over Instagram at that time.
Acosta’s death comes a few weeks after that the death of an influencer Dominique Brownknown by her screen name HellooDomo, who died on December 5, 2024 at an industry event hosted by BoxLunch due to a severe allergic reaction. She was 34.
