Tanner Charles and his friend were at home trying to make their house as fireproof as possible when the Palisades Fire began to approach. They filmed the moment they were forced to leave, running down a street with multiple houses on fire.
The Palisades Fire, one of several burning in Los Angeles, exploded in size Tuesday night as strong winds hit northwest Los Angeles. It already has at least 1,000 buildings and forced more than 30,000 residents to evacuate.
President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for California on Wednesday, which will allow residents to have immediate access to funds and resources for their recovery.
