Jaime Munguía will reportedly fight his former conqueror, Bruno Surace, in a rematch on April 12 in Tijuana, Mexico.
Former WBO junior middleweight champion Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) hopes to avenge his humiliating sixth-round knockout loss to Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) last month, on December 14 against fans from his hometown in Tijuana.
Munguía, 28, got careless in the sixth round and was knocked down by a Cobra-like right hand from Surance. The shot sent Munguía face down on the canvas.
Jaime was on his feet after getting back up, and the referee, Juan José Ramírez, stopped him rather than allowing the Frenchman to hit him a second time.

It’s questionable if it’s a good idea for Munguía to accept the rematch with Surace because this guy might have his number. Early in the fight, Jaime dropped him with a left hook to the head.
However, Surace surprised Munguía moments later with a cobra-shaped right hand to the head. Munguia took it well, but that shot was identical to the right hand he dropped him with later in the fight in the sixth.
