IBF World Cruiser Champion Jai Opetaia knocked out David Nyika in four rounds on Wednesday night at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia.
In the main event, Opetaia, 27-0 (21), stopped ‘The Nice Guy’ Nyika, 10-1 (9) at 2:17 of the fourth round of the scheduled 12 rounds.
In the second round, both fighters faced off and both scored well in the final seconds. In the third round, Opetaia scored well and easily won the round.
In the fourth round, at the halfway point, Opetaia landed a strong uppercut followed by a combination that dropped Nyika for an 8 count by referee David Fields.
