A24 Nicole Kidman was, well, kind of offended by one review for her upcoming film Babygirl. “I think this movie is very snappy. I hope so,” Kidman, 57, told The Hollywood Reporter in a profile published Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Milk’s memorable moment is a nod to Kidman’s character in the film, Romy, who is a seemingly perfect mother and wife at home and a total boss at work, serving as the CEO of her company. After growing tired of his idyllic life, Romy has a passionate affair with his much younger intern Samuel (Harris Dickinson).

In one memorable scene, Romy is sitting in a bar with friends and co-workers when Samuel sends her a glass of milk from across the room. The gesture freaks her out, but eventually Romy picks up the cup and drinks every drop while keeping her gaze fixed on Samuel.

The pair, who are at the beginning of their romance, exchange intense and steamy glances as Romy milks the milk and wipes the residue from her lip.

Samuel later walks past Roma and whispers, “Good girl.”

The sexy and surprising scene was inspired by the writer, director and co-producer Halina Reijnováreal life experience.

“I went to the bar and ordered something boring like a Diet Coke because I didn’t drink at the time because I was a freak. There was a young Belgian actor there – I can’t say who he is – but he was famous,” said Reijn IndieWire in December 2024. “I knew about him. I never spoke to him. He was at least 15 years younger than me and ordered me a glass of milk.”

She recalled that she thought it was “an incredible, hot thing and so brave”, so she decided to “reward him by drinking the whole thing”.

Reijn admitted she was “a little nauseous” after finishing the glass, but that didn’t stop it from being “one of the most exciting moments of my life”.
