Joe Rogan and Mel Gibson criticize Governor Newsom amid wildfires: California ‘personally ruined’


Podcaster Joe Rogan, a lifelong critic California Gov. Gavin Newsom criticized the Democrat while speaking with filmmaker Mel Gibson on Thursday.

Many celebrities have lost their homes in Palisades such as forest fires continue is wreaking havoc there and elsewhere in Los Angeles County, burning more than 27,000 acres, destroying more than 10,000 structures and killing at least 7 people as of Thursday, according to local officials.

At Rogan’s studio in Texas, Gibson commented that he would “be surprised if my house was still there” in Southern California, and said that his son, a volunteer firefighter, “sent me a video of my neighborhood and it’s on fire. “It seems like hell.” Gibson later confirmed that his house had indeed been destroyed.

“Do you think this will finally get you out of California?” Rogan, a former californianasked.

“Yeah, maybe,” Gibson responded, suggesting he could go home to Costa Rica.

The conversation then turned to how the state is being run by its overwhelmingly Democratic government.

“They spent $24 billion last year for the homelessAnd how much did they spend preventing these wildfires?” Rogan asked. “Zip.”

“Zip,” Gibson agreed. “And in 2019, Newsom said, you know, he would take care of the forest, maintain it and do all those kinds of things. He didn’t do anything.”

“On top of that, they turned off the water,” Rogan said.

Gibson then joked, “All our tax money probably went to Gavin’s hair gel.”

“The entire state is very poorly managed,” the podcast host argument. “It’s very frustrating and confusing. And then you go on TV and pretend that everything is great, ‘California is the best, we have the best state, we have the most incredible economy,’ like… You’re out of your f–” mind, friend.

“You have ruined this state, you have ruined it personally,” Rogan said of Newsom.

“Well, it’s the same team that was in San Francisco, and they came to Los Angeles and they’re doing what they did in San Francisco,” Gibson said.

San Francisco is something apocalyptic now. “I went there and it’s like people, you know, homeless, it’s a disaster,” he added.

“It’s just incredible that society can fall apart so quickly,” Rogan said.
