MILAN (Reuters) – Italy’s Prada (OTC:) is among those seeking to review the acquisition of fashion group Versace that Capri Holdings (NYSE:) has sold, daily Il Sole 24 ore e report on friday.
In November Coach-owner Tapestry (NYSE: ) struck an $8.5 billion deal to buy Michael Kors-owner Capri.
After that deal to create an American luxury conglomerate fell through, Capri took over Barclays (LON:) is looking at strategic options that include selling its Versace and Jimmy Choo brands, two people with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
Not one person said the entire Capri Holdings group could be sold either.
Prada is looking at the file with Citi, the report said. Citi worked with Prada in the past on a two-list project that was put on hold.
When contacted by Reuters, Prada declined to comment.
In November, Capri posted a bigger-than-expected drop in quarterly revenue, hurt by operating errors and a decline in demand for luxury goods worldwide.
