River Kelly Clarkson’s kids, Remy are all grown up on Talk Show Chat

“You all may remember when I had my kids River and Remy on set a few weeks ago. That’s a great perk we get as a family when the show is taped on a Saturday,” the singer, 42, said on the Wednesday, Jan. 8, episode. The Kelly Clarkson Show. “Like their mom, both my kids love to sing. And when Remy hit the scene, he surprised us. He wanted his chance at the microphone and literally said, ‘Who do I have to talk to to sing my song?’ I was like, ‘OK’, so of course we did it.”

Last month Remy, 8, went viral after Clarkson shared a clip of her son singing the classic Frank Sinatra tune in to “My Way”. So Clarkson decided they would show the full video of Remy’s performance. In the clip, Remy took to the stage and sang his heart out. Clarkson and River, 10, cheered him on from the wings as he belted out the power ballad. After finishing the song, Remy received a standing ovation from the audience. Clarkson ran over to give her son a big hug.

After the performance, Clarkson had a special treat for the audience as Remy and River back in the studio.

“I’m so excited because both my kids are here again. Let’s get them out, everybody,” Clarkson told the audience. “Everyone say hello to River and Remy!”

River and Remy walked out and hugged their mother before sitting on the couch. All the siblings were for their own great television appearance. River rocked a black and white blouse with straight hair and bangs – similar to her mother’s iconic look. Remy looked dapper in a green striped jacket.

“Oh my god, look at you. You’ve got your make-up on and your hair done,” Clarkson blurted out. “We don’t look like this at home.”

Clarkson then asked her son why he wanted to play that particular song. Remy explained that he really liked it, especially when he saw it Sing 2. Clarkson teased that she and River used to hear “My Way” a lot at home.

“I can’t even count… how many times,” River teased, how often her brother crossed “My Way.”

Clarkson shared that she and River hear Remy practicing the song a lot as he prepares to sing it at several events for his school. This was one of the main reasons why he wanted to try singing in front of a live audience. Kelly also shared Remy’s reaction after a snippet of the song went viral.

“I said, ‘Dude, mate, I think you got over a million views on your video,'” she recalled. “And he says, ‘Do you have that many views?’ I was like, ‘Take it easy — and not often.'”

Like Remy, Clarkson noted that she always hears her “Queen of Country” daughter practicing music in her room. The American Idol winner took it to River to share what she likes to do musically. Like her mother, she likes to sing and write music.

“I put it together in a journal that I forgot at home because I’m a forgetful person in my family,” River admitted. “But I often do it in my room and spend hours and hours and hours singing (and) trying to make a song.”

Clarkson proudly shared that Rivera’s songs are “good”.

Clarkson shares both River and Remy ex-husband Brandon Blackstock. The couple split up in 2020 after almost seven years of marriage.
